D.E. Stockman

D. E. Stockman served in the military and upon college graduation he turned to the graphic arts. His profession carried him from publication printing of periodicals such as National Geographic and Playboy magazines, to book illustration and cover design for the imprints of Simon & Schuster, Harcourt Brace & Co., and Pearson Education. After writing articles for an e-magazine and trade journals, he began his series of historical novels. David currently lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife Valerie.

His three-book series, Tween Sea and Shore, originally released by FireShip Press and republished by StarGlyph Publishing, follows the adventures of noted historical and fictional characters linked to a frigate, la Renommée. The French ship’s story, researched by the author for over a decade, uncovered remarkable connections among people in the mid-1700s. David unveiled their story beginning with his debut book, The Ship’s Carpenter, which won two finalist awards in the Page Turner international book competition. The tale continues in Captains of the Renown, the second book, and concludes in the final book, On Waves of Glory.
